James Dillet Freeman began writing verse at the age of ten. By the time he finished college, his poems had been published nationally. His work has been translated into thirteen languages and published in The New Yorker, Saturday Review, The New York Times, Scientific Monthly, Reader's Digest, Unity Magazine, and other publications. Two of his poems have been carried to the moon by Apollo astronauts. Reverend Freeman was affiliated with Unity School of Christianity for over seventy years, serving as director of Silent Unity and in many other capacities until his retirement in 1984. From then until he made his transition in 2003, he devoted his time to writing and to the support of Unity.
